100th Post and updates!

I can't believe I have hit the 100th post milestone!!!  I really enjoy blogging about my classroom, students, and the fun things we do everyday.  I hope it is enjoyed by parents, students, teachers, and anyone who looks at the blog.  I will continue to post pictures and details about our day and special events that are coming our way!  Here are a few updates!

- I haven't been able to blog lately because my computer is being fixed.  I have a back up and will post pictures VERY soon!  We have been celebrating Christmas in the room and have completed many fun craft projects and activities.  We have been watching Santa feed his reindeer at reindeercam.com and counting down to Christmas with a Christmas Tree Advent Calendar.  We add presents under the tree for every day we are at school.  There are also penguins on the door helping us count down to Santa's trip on Christmas Eve!

-Tomorrow, Friday Dec 13th, the Delphos Jefferson Show Choir is coming to school to perform their annual Christmas program for our children!  They always put on a great show and the children will really enjoy it!

-Next Friday, Dec 20th, is our annual Parent/Child Christmas Day.  Our theme is "Twas the Night Before Christmas."  The students will here this timeless classic and will then go to each of the 4 classrooms to sing songs and create a craft that goes along with the story.  A special guest will be there as well! ;)

-There will be NO SCHOOL from Dec 23rd to Jan 3rd for our Christmas Break!  Our first day back to school will be Monday Jan 6th, 2014.

- Eariler this week, 2 Shelf Elves (from the story "The Elf on the Shelf") appeared at school!  They are here to watch over us until Christmas and report back to Santa about what they see at school. :)  The first day, they borrowed one of Mrs. Wettig's toy trucks and drove it into the lunchroom!  Today, they were in the office hanging snowflakes on the windows.  They got stuck behind the copier! Check back tomorrow to see where the elves pop up next!  I was lucky enough to take pictures of the Elves and not scare them away!

-The Scholastic Book order came eariler that expected and arrived today!  All orders in the 3 day class went home today and the orders in the 2 day class will go home Monday.  Thanks again to all those who ordered!  I was able to get some great FREE Christmas and Winter books for the classroom!  I showed them to the kids today and they were very excited!
