catching up!

Here are some more pictures from mid March to the end of the school year.  I will gradually post the pictures when I can.

Here are some St.Patrick's Day pictures!  We completed a science experiment by placing flowers into a vase filled with green colored water.  We talked about what plants need to live and identified the parts of flower.  The students also figured out that if the flower's stem sucks up water and it goes to the flower, the petals with turn green.

The students also painted some shamrocks with green puffy paint.  Just mix shaving cream and glue until you get a puffy consistency.

Hit the beach!

To wrap up the end of the school year, we had a beach party!  The students had so much fun with our end of the year beach theme!  I brought in beach towels, beach bags, and even an inflatable pool for the kids to use.  This theme also went with our theme for graduation, the ocean.  We read books about the beach, going to beach, animals found at the beach and in the ocean.  The students also created some awesome beach and ocean themed projects.  Here are a few pictures!

Sunset on the beach pictures.  The students painted with red, yellow, and orange paint and glued black cut out pictures of ocean animals to their picture.  I love how this project came out!

A day at the beach picture.  The students were given different colors of blue paint.  Once the paint was dried, they brushed glue on the bottom of the paper and sprinkled sand to make a beach.  They finally added foam stickers of ocean animals to their project.  With both projects, we talked about day and night, we see the sun during the day and the moon at night, and warm/cool colors.

I'm back!!!

Sorry for falling off the face of the Earth for a few months!!!  The end of the school year was crazy/busy and I had lots of paper work to complete and other things that needed my attention.  I was also in charge of our Preschool Graduation this year!  That took up a lot of my time but went very well! Now that summer is here, I plan to gradually update you on everything you missed at the end of the year!  I will also add fun summer activities as I find them and start giving you up dates as the school year gets closer.  I already have a theme in place to start the 2014-2015 school year and lots of new activities and changes for my third year in the classroom!  Stay tuned for more!!! :)

Enjoy your summer!!!
