~~ Bargain Buy Alert!!!~~

I went to Wal-Mart yesterday and they had all of their Dr.Seuss books on sale.  Regular size hard back books for $5.00.  I bought "Hop on Pop" and "Fox in Socks".  They also had board books for $3.50.  I got "Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?" and "Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb."

Half of a bulletin board

Since we were working on projects for the big bulletin board and little bulletin board outside the room, we decided to also work on the one in the room this week.  I decided we needed to brighten the room with some flowers and get ready for spring!  The kids made hyacinths by dipping their fingers in paint and making dots, for the buds, on each side of the flower stem.  The three day class used purple and the 2 day class will use blue when they make theirs next week.  Once they dried, the students colored the leaves and I started hanging them on the bulletin board.  It's halfway finished but looks cute so far!  Here are some pictures!

Here is the partly finished board!  It looks good so far and I will add some to the wall that do not fit on the board.  I will update when the project is completely finished!  Also, check out my awesome shamrock lights!  I love them and they look so cute when they are plugged in!  The kids like having them on during rest time and the room is dark.  :)  I got them at Big Lots in Van Wert.  They also have eggs for Easter I will be purchasing!  If you get a chance, you need to go to Big Lots and check out their holiday decorations.  They are cute and very affordable!

A visit from the dentist!

On Wednesday and Friday this week, we had a very special visit from one of the dentists at Van Wert Dentists.  She came to talk to our class about dental health, how to keep our teeth healthy, and just how important our teeth are for our health.  Both classes were great and they did a fantastic job of answering questions.  Each student in the school got a little gift bag filled with lots of fun things!  She talked about the coloring contest we participated in a few months ago and told us how we can get a pizza party for our school!!!  The kids were very excited and you can help too!

Teachers and students got this card in their gift bag.  If you are on Facebook, all you need to do is go to their Facebook page, find our picture, Thomas Edison Pre-school, and like, comment, and share the picture.  If we have the highest like percentage, our school gets a pizza party! (This includes both the 2 and 3 day classes.)  So please, help us out so we can eat pizza!   Thanks for your help!  :)

New bulletin board displays

Here are our new bulletin boards for March!  This is my month to decorate the big bulletin board.  The students made these adorable Leprechauns that got stuck in their pots of gold!  I used the rest of the projects to decorate the board outside our classroom.
