Apples week 1

Today we started the first of our two weeks studying apples. We started by working on making an apple tree. We glued tissue paper to card stock to make the leaves. We will continue to work on the project the rest of this week. We also practiced sorting apples. We sorted them by color and by different attributes such as stems, leaves and worms. We also sang the song one little too little three little apples and practiced counting apples up to 10 and the kids got to participate by holding a picture of an apple with the number beside it.

Sticker pictures, barn building, magnets and dice game

Today was another fun day at preschool! We made farm sticker pictures and used cups and sticks to build barns for all the farm animals. We also played with ball and stick magnets and played a new dice game. The students roll the dice and counted all the dots. Then they had to find the number on the game mat and place a farm animal figurine on top of the number. We also sang old Macdonald had a farm and used the pocket chart to help us sing along and we added a picture of a different animal for every verse. We also read the story “ Duck on a Bike” and talked about the story and all the farm animals.
