No school, no problem!

With no school ( in our case, Wed and Thurs) and sub zero temperatures, the kids are home with you, if you do not have to go to work. They can’t go out because it’s too cold. Never fear, because there are so many fun activities you can do with your child in the house where it is nice and warm!

* Make breakfast together! Pancakes, French toast, oatmeal or whatever you choose. Have your child help mix the ingredients and set the table for a fun breakfast they helped make! You can do the same for lunch!

* Make slime! My nephews love slime and love to help make it too! Great for following directions, sequencing and sensory play.

* Build a fort! Grab the pillows, blankets and chairs or table  or the couch and construct the best fort around.

* Exercise or do yoga together! Pop in an exercise dvd or pull one up on YouTube. Strengthen your mind and body together!

* Paint! Water colors or washable will work. Create a masterpiece to decorate the house or to give as a gift. You can use paint brushes, but get creative and use sponges or toilet paper tubes!

* Crafts!  Get out glue, scissors, paper, crayons and popsicle sticks! Create!

* Sing and dance! Pop in a cd, pull up YouTube or have Alexa stream some tunes. Be silly!

* Popcorn and a movie! Sit in your tent or use the pillows and blankets to make a sitting place on the floor. Pop some popcorn and snuggle up with a good movie!

* Get on the floor and play! Step back from the laundry, dishes and house work for a little bit and PLAY with your child. Build with blocks, play Barbie’s or Super Heroes, play with cars and trucks or dress up! Play, interact, and communicate with your child.

* Read!!!! Snuggle up with good books!!!!
