Smooth Sailing!

So far, our first three weeks of school have gone very smoothly and the students seem to be having fun and enjoy being in preschool! We have been learning about social skills.  This includes a wide variety of topics, feelings, emotions, friendship, sharing, and learning what makes each of us special and unique.  We read "My Many Colored Days" by Dr. Seuss and painted boys or girls the colors we were feeling that day.  These projects were taken to the Van Wert County Fair for display.  They are now back at school and hanging in the hallway outside out classroom.  Pictures to come soon!  I am also sending home an "All About Me" pennant for the parents complete with their child.  Once it is complete, send back to school.  We will present it to the class and display it in the hall!  We also learned about our finger prints and how they make us special.  We also learned that no two people have the same prints and each set is different and unique, just like us!

Here is what you can expect to see in the future!

~ My monthly news letter was sent out last week for the three day class and the two day class will get it this week.

~ Scholastic Reading Club flyers will be coming home soon!  All orders and online orders need to be submitted by September 30th.

~ This week we start our academic weekly themes.  This week, we are learning about the letter A, Number 0, Color red, and Shape Circle.

- We will be learning about alligators this week!  Reading stories, singing songs, and activities (possibly a game or two!) all about alligators!

~ Practice with tracing and cutting skills
